Plant Controller

Hyperframe manufactures steel wall framing that dramatically accelerates the speed of commercial construction. Our patented snap-together system installs 5X faster than traditional methods – almost no tools or training required. Our test factory has shipped over 50 miles of product to top contractors around the country. Backed by a $9M Series B, it’s time to scale up production.

As our first in-house finance leader, you’ll play a pivotal role in building the financial backbone for high-volume production. You’ll own cost accounting for our operations, help implement and optimize our ERP system (including quoting and invoicing), track and communicate key sales and production metrics, and partner closely with leadership and operations to drive profitability as we ramp up manufacturing.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead Cost Accounting & Operations Finance: Develop and maintain detailed standard costing, variance analysis, BOM/routings, inventory valuation, and product costing for our metal framing production lines. Track and optimize unit costs as we scale.
  • Drive ERP Implementation: Partner with operations and sales functions to implement and integrate manufacturing-focused ERP modules, including quoting, invoicing, inventory, production planning, costing, and financial reporting.
  • Track & Communicate Key Metrics: Proactively monitor, analyze, and report on critical sales and operational KPIs. Deliver clear insights and recommendations to sales, operations, and leadership teams to help track or beat financial projections.
  • Own Forecasting & Analysis: Continuously update financial models, rolling forecasts, and budgets based on real production and sales data. Provide insightful analysis on cost drivers, pricing, sales performance, quoting effectiveness, and operational improvements.
  • Establish Strong Foundations: Improve financial processes, controls, and reporting as we transition from outsourced accounting/consulting to in-house excellence. Support month-end close, compliance, and audit readiness.

Who You Are

  • 5–10+ years of progressive finance/accounting experience, with strong manufacturing or industrial operations background (plant-level cost accounting highly preferred).
  • Deep expertise in cost accounting, variance analysis, and inventory management in a production environment.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (implementation or optimization in manufacturing settings a big plus).
  • Experience tracking and communicating sales metrics, revenue forecasting, and cross-functional business partnering.
  • Proven ability to translate financial and sales data into actionable insights for non-finance leaders; excellent communicator and critical thinker.
  • CPA preferred but not required—real-world manufacturing finance impact matters most.
  • Energized by a fast-paced startup environment where you’ll wear multiple hats and directly influence company success.

What We Offer

  • Competitive base salary + meaningful equity in a high-growth company.
  • Full benefits package (health, dental, vision, 401(k), etc.).
  • Opportunity to build the finance function from the ground up and grow with the business (path to Director/Head of Finance).
  • Direct impact on a company that’s solving real problems in construction while scaling advanced manufacturing in Ohio.
